Roberto Maria Anselmi
Roberto Maria Anselmi, Master of mosaic art, son of the famous Roman Poet, was born in Rome. Having successfully completed the relative studies in the "Istitute of Art" in Rome, and began to work at the Studio of Mosaic in the Vatican, remaining there for 41 years, creating and repairing antique mosaics for four Roman Basilicas, such as St. Peter's Basilica and St. Paul's Outside the Walls. Here he made portraits of two Roman Popes: Saint John XXIII and Paul VI.
He began his artistic experience at the mosaics of EUR and Foro Itálico. Then he worked at the Studio Galassi in Valle Giulia and began to realize important works such as Via Crucis in Cortona (Umbria) on the cartoons of Gino Severini, works on the cartoons of M.Mazzacurati, the mosaics of the apse inside Regina Pacis Church, the mosaics of Santa Teresa Church in Corso d'Italia at Rome and he colloborated with many others important mosaic artists.
He is considered one of the most respectable and famous world's mosaic artist. Apart from Italy, he worked in many countries such as Mexico, Canada, the United States of America, Brazil, Ireland, Sweden, Finland and others.
